Nelson / Taylor Thanksgiving 2008

We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving this year! My parents and Chris's parents, sister and her two boys came to our home. This was the first year (and many more to come) to have it at our home. This is also the first Holiday Season without any of my grandparents :( it's going to be very sad, but very thankful for all of our blessings.

Ella had a fun time with her cousins and grandparents, she cried when everyone went home. She now smiles for the camera. She makes me laugh!!!!

Her Thanksgiving outfit. She is such a cutie!!!!!

Friday we finally put up the Christmas decor. We had to put all of the ornaments for the tree about waist high and higher. Ella thought they all were toys. We got her the 2nd ornament from Hallmark. We also got a new tree skirt and stockings from Pottery Barn. I love them!!! Ella loves the tree, we put a small one in her room, she thinks that is just fabulous. She will look at the trees and in her sweet little voice say "WOW". Love it!
Friday afternoon Ella and I had lunch with some girl friends, then went shopping, Ella did awesome!!! We didn't get home until 8:30. She was such a trooper.

Now we are looking forward to Christmas! This year will be so fun to watch Ella. :)

Hunting Season...

This weekend Chris went to a Bow Hunting only Ranch (I was happy, I don't like the thought of bullets whizzing near him!) He only hunts with a Bow anyway. While he was there he got a Doe. These pics are before he took her to be processed. I guess HE will be eating deer meat soon. :( I just can not get over the thought of it. I was raised on beef, my grandparents raised cattle. Everyone tells me it's the same as killing a deer. Not to me, I think deer are cuter than cattle. What ever makes him happy. He just knows Ella will go hunting with him. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Christmas Pics 2008

A couple of weeks ago we met our photographer in Las Calinas for Christmas Pictures. I was very surprised when she emailed me the link to see the pics before the CD was mailed. She did an amazing job, I was a little worried, because Ella wanted to do her own thing and NOT have "family pics". She did get several family pics! YEA :)
Natalie has lots of patients, because her daughter and Ella are 3 days apart. So she knows how stubborn they can be.

Just a few more favorites to come. Ella is wanting to play. Come back later.

Ella's 18 month checkup

Ella had her 18 month doctors visit today. Chris took her, I was working, she only had to get one shot (yeah!!). Chris said she cried initially, but then it was over. Her stats are: Ht-32 3/4 Wt-28lbs9oz. She is 75% for height and 90% for weight! Her doctor told Chris she is well beyond her age at this point for the things she is doing and saying. She is getting her two year molars, just as I thought *tear*.

On a HAPPY side note. I have pics to show from my early Christmas gift. I love it!!!!!! Thank you Chris!!!!!!!!!!!

Ella is helping her Daddy get ready to shoot his bow.

She loves her Daddy's seat he uses for hunting.

This cute smile makes my heart giggle!!!! Being silly after her bath.

I just could not wait!

I had to put a Christmas background up. I love, love, love Christmas! It is going to be even more fun this year, because Ella is really going to be fun to watch. She was 7 months last Christmas. It was fun, but this year she is 18 months and it's going to be a blast!!!! Can't wait. I hope sometime tomorrow we can start to put up the decorations. I like to start early, I like to enjoy them a little longer. Chris and I are going to have to be creative on how to keep Ella from removing all of the ornaments from the tree. We put a small tree in Ella's room last year, don't know if that will happen this year...

More pics to come with all of the Christmas stuff.

Happy 18 Months Ella!!!

Our baby girl is 18 months old today! She has grown too too fast. Like all parents say, where in the world has the time gone... I love to see her personality blossom everyday. She is saying so many more words, such as "GO TECH" since Chris is a Texas Tech alumni (by the way they have been doing awesome this season). He has taught her to say this quite often. She looks so cute saying it as she "puts her guns up".

Each day I see the terrible "2's" come alive. I've been told that they start early and don't go away until 3-4 years old. WOW!! this will be a long ride.

She definitely showed her terrible two thing as we had Family Christmas Picture yesterday. She did so well in the pics alone, because she could do her own thing, but the minute we tried to get a family pic she wouldn't have it. O'Well we had a good time and Natalie said she got a few good family shots.

Everyone told me that this got easier, I was beginning to wonder if that was ever going to happen. Now that Ella understands more, it has gotten much easier. Even when it is hard, it is well worth it when she gives me giant hugs and kisses!!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Carson!

Yesterday we helped Carson celebrate his 2nd Birthday. We got to see their new addition, Claire Elizabeth. She is just adorable. Not to mention her room. It is fabulous !!!!
Ella had a wonderful time at Carson's party, even after falling out of the chair.
A few pics of the Birthday Boy, his yummy cake, his parents and beautiful baby sister.
