Saturday we went to a birthday party, or as the birthday boy's mother would call it "A Hillbilly Shooting Party". HA! The birthday boy, Jonah turned 12 years old. He wanted to have friends over and set up shooting targets and shoot their shot guns, so that is what they did. You can do that kind of thing when you live in the country. We told Ella she had to wear ear protection, she HAD to put them on in the truck on the way to their house. She was more than ready. HA! They had a great time until the rain began. Ella had a wonderful time with all of the children to play with.
I had to remind her several times to NOT blow out J's candles when it came time to sing happy birthday. She tends to do that at birthday parties. You can tell by the pics that she had to really refrain from blowing! HA! The birthday cake was special, because J drew the pic on it, at Sam's they can put a picture as icing on any cake. Kind of cool!
Lauren and her baby Lola, who is 7 months old were there. Ella had to play "mother hen" to her. Ella would not get out of her face, would not let her crawl, I guess she thought she needing to baby her like she does her brother.
Owen sleep most of the time and was held by everyone.
We had a fun time!
Happy, Happy Birthday Jonah!!!

Princess
This is all I have heard for the last week or so. Ella is always saying "Momma Princess". She told me she wants to be a Princess for Halloween. My mom brought over some "Princess dresses". She practically lives in these.

1 Month Check-Up ~ Owen
Owen had his 1 month check-up today. He got 1 shot ): He did okay, just cried a minute or two. He weighs 11 pounds 9 1/2 oz and is 23 1/4 inches. This means he is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. The DOC said he is a BIG boy and is perfect!!!! (:
Ella got the FLU mist while we where at the doctors office. The DOC really recommend all of us get the vaccine, since Owen can not get it until he is 1 year old. Ella did AWESOME!!!!! She did not make a move or a sound!!!! YEAH!!!
I got my FLU shot today at Walgreens. I have NEVER gotten the FLU vaccine, but thought I should now that it is FLU season and we have a newborn and Ella. It was not too bad.
Chris got his FLU mist at work, so we are all covered. I hope this means we all stay well!
Owen has been a little fussy this afternoon, so he is sleeping and I am going to catch some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's while I can.

OctoberFest 2009
Saturday we (Chris, myself, Ella, Owen and Nana) went down town McKinney to the annual OctoberFest. We all had a great time, but it was a little HOT! We shopped, ate good food and Chris tried some of the German authentic beer. Ella got to help paint a picture, but my battery went down on the camera, so I did not get a picture of it :( She got to pet baby rabbits, goats and popped belly pigs. She also ran around a lot, she has not been "out" in sometime, because of the baby. We have decided not to expose him for awhile because of this UGLY thing called THE FLU!!!
We can't wait until next October!

1 month
Saturday, September 26, 2009
Owen turned 1 month old! Where has the time gone? I think we have finally gotten into some kind of a routine, gotten back to some kind of "normal".
Everyone who sees Owen or sees a picture can not believe he is as young as a month old. They think he looks older than that. I guess we are blessed with BIG, healthy children. We heard and still hear the same thing with Ella, we get "Is she 3 years old?" It kind of makes me sad, that they look "older" than they are. I guess I'll take it and run with it...they are just healthy children and we are very, very blessed!!! :)

Fun with Paw Paw
Last Monday night my Dad came over to watch Monday Night Football AND of course to see the kiddos. Ella had a fun time playing with him and climbing on the back of the sofa to "get him". Ella really has her own personality, she is too funny, the things she says...

kitty cat love
Our furry friends have really been snuggley since we have been having some cooler weather. The funny thing is...they are both boys. I guess that doesn't matter when your kitty brothers. The white cat is a Devon Rex, his name is Casper. He only has one coat of hair, where most other cats have two coats. This means he is more cold than the black cat. Stanley, the black one, I found him at one of my patients home when I was doing Pediatric Home Health. I really wanted another Devon Rex, but in black...did not want to spend $600 dollars again. Don't get me wrong Casper was well worth the money, but come on Stanley was FREE and way too cute!
The cats are our only furry friends. We gave London (the white POM POM we found) to a friend. I really was sad to have to give her away, but it was way too much with two kids and two cats. I miss her so much!!! :( She was a GREAT dog, but I know that she went to a GREAT home. :) In other words NO MORE ANIMALS for a very, very long time!!!!!
